Compliant vs Certified
Our eyes are very complex, yet we often take for granted that our vision will be perfect as we age. The reality is that undiagnosed visual problems may potentially put us and others in danger. Workers aged over 40 face increased safety risks as an age-related condition called presbyopia affects their eyesight.
Compliance
Compliant means that product fully adheres to the requirements of the Standard, so we complete internal testing and the process adhering to standards in the same way as certified, however this product range is not tested by a third party.
Certified
Certification means that your product has actually been certified to be in conformance (compliance) with all the requirements of the standard by a third party. In essence, certification is proof of a basic compliance claim. Being certified should be seen as a step above just being compliant, because certification is provided by a third-party entity.
How PSG Can Help
PSG frames are certified and manufactured to prescription ranges that accomodate approximately 90% of the population. In saying this, PSG also offers safety glasses which are 'compliant' to the Standard which are outside of certified prescription ranges through our fully certified laboratory. These safety glasses will not come with a 'certified' safety certificate.
